Discerning a call to the EYE 2014 Mission Planning Team?
From time to time I welcome guest bloggers to EpiscoYouth. This week, the Rev. Abigail Moon of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Tallahassee, FL, writes about her experiences as a member of the EYE 2011 team.
My name is Abi Moon and I want to share with you my experience at the Episcopal Youth Event in 2011 in Minnesota.
In 2011, I was the chaplain to the event. It was an honor to serve as chaplain and tend to the spiritual needs of the mission planning team and also be available for the body of youth and those who work with youth in a pastoral capacity.
EYE 2014, like all EYE’s, invites all youth to participate fully in worship, dialogue and the mission of the Church. In 3-5 days, the community gathers, connects despite cultural differences, and listens to what God is call them to do.
If you have a heart for hospitality, for program planning, for creating worship and working with people who might see things differently than you and in that different perspective help you to know and understand how big God is, then pray and consider if God is calling you to be a part of this team.
The Mission Planning team requires a lot of time, energy, and care and the call is not for everyone–but it might be for you.
