Inside Evangelism Matters Podcast 3 – Jordan Trendleman / Dr. Sandra Montes
On our third and final episode of Inside Evangelism Matters, recorded live at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Fr. Lorenzo talks with two Episcopal evangelists who live and work the good news of Christ in their contexts.
Mr. Jordan Trendleman is a layperson from the Diocese of Northern Indiana. He describes his own journey to the Episcopal Church—a journey that led through punk rock, Zen Buddhism, and a very long meditation. Hearing the voice of a “nagging Jesus” that called (and continues to call) him, Jordan describes how authenticity, integrity, and faithfulness are keys to welcoming people to the loving, liberating, and life-giving way of Jesus.
Dr. Sandra Montes of Sugarland, Diocese of Texas, discusses her ministry of welcome and the particular blessings of Latino and Hispanic ministries. She touches on the important work of relationship-building that is based on mutual transformation, community, and honest invitation, in the hopes that the evangelistic spirit that is so clear in Latin American congregations takes hold of the wider Episcopal Church.
Inside Evangelism Matters is produced by The Episcopal Church Office of Communication.
