From the Mid-Year Report by the Rev. Rachel Mash
Each month in our newsletter for coordinators, we share a story from a grant site, gleaned through our reporting processes. In 2023, we are sharing an additional story here to help tell the stories of where your thank offerings have gone and the impact that they have. We’ll also share how to get involved or support a project that might be of interest to you. This month, we’re sharing the story of a 2022 grant to the Anglican Church of Southern Africa.
How is your project going?
This has been an exciting project.
1. Home food gardening courses have taken place in the Dioceses of Lesotho, Bloemfontein, Zululand, Grahamstown, and Port Elizabeth.
2. We have run youth training in Diocese of False Bay, Bloemfontein, Mbashe and Matlosane, and Cape Town.
3. We ran the Climate Yes! (Youth Ecumenical Summit) at three hubs in Malawi, Nairobi, and Johannesburg.
4. We have employed a part-time person to assist with the Preaching for God’s World website for sermon notes on each Sunday.
What is your biggest success so far?
The biggest success story has been the home gardening courses. People have been very excited to learn the new skills and share with others.
