Giving Tuesday: UTO and Episcopal Migration Ministries

By Heather Melton, UTO Staff Officer

Each November, Americans are invited to support their favorite charities on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, often through engaging with social media. This year, UTO and Episcopal Migration Ministries (EMM) are joining together on Giving Tuesday to help you support not one but two amazing ministries of The Episcopal Church. From Nov. 1 through the end of 2023, you can set up a fundraiser on Facebook. One hundred percent of what you raise will contribute to the 2023 UTO Ingathering; and then 100% of contributions raised online will be awarded as a grant to EMM to support its work of welcoming the stranger.

You can find information to set up your Facebook fundraiser here.

Nonprofit Name: Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society of the Protestant EPISCOPA

This is the legal name of The Episcopal Church, but it looks a little strange, so you can edit that on the fundraising page. We’ve included a screenshot with a suggestion of how you could update it to make it clearer who you are raising funds for. If you want, you can also just list UTO or EMM; we’ll get the funds to the right place.

You can upload a personal image to your fundraiser, the UTO or EMM logo, or we’ll have some images that you can use easily on your social media pages to help you during November.

Not into social media but want to support this collaboration? No problem! We’ve also set up a way you can donate directly to this effort at www.unitedthankoffering.com/give: Just select UTO and EMM from the drop-down list.

However you choose to give this Giving Tuesday, we hope you’ll remember UTO and EMM in your donations. Thank you for all the ways you support the important work of UTO and EMM.
