By UTO Board and Staff
As the UTO Board and staff continue to plan for our time together this July, we want to share as many updates as we can with the understanding that given the ongoing pandemic, something may change as we go along to accommodate changes from the General Convention Office and Executive Council. Each month in the e-newsletter, you’ll find an update on where things are with UTO plans for Convention. In the meantime, the most up-to-date information will be posted on our website.
The UTO Board and staff have been planning and preparing for General Convention for a long time, and we are so excited that it is just a few months away. Much of what we are working on is still in flux while we await the triennial schedule; however, we do know a few things that we want to share with you this month. First, we’ve created a webpage that we will update as soon as we have more information about convention. You can visit it here: https://unitedthankoffering.com/convention/
We’ll also use it to keep information that you might be looking for about being together in Baltimore this summer. Please note: We know many of you do not want to travel to convention this year, and we want you to know that we’ve heard you. Currently, everything we are doing in Baltimore will be accessible in some way from home. As events get released, we’ll share how you can join in person or from home and have all of that clearly listed on our webpage.
Save the Date: Farm to Soul Dinner – July 10 from 6-8p
We are so excited to announce the date for our special event at convention that we’re holding with the team leading the Good News Gardens and the amazing community at Trinity Episcopal Church in Towson, Maryland. Please be sure to mark your calendars now for our Farm to Soul dinner on July 10 from 6-8 p.m. More information coming soon!
UTO Materials at General Convention
Just a reminder that all new printed materials were released last summer as if convention had happened on schedule. We offered free shipping for diocesan coordinators to receive materials at home. This means that we will only have a limited supply of materials available at convention. If you are used to coming to convention and filling a suitcase with materials, you will need to let Isabelle or Heather know, and you can come when the exhibit hall is about to close and take what is left of printed materials on a first-come/first-served basis. If you are from a predominantly Spanish-speaking diocese, you will receive an order form in March to order materials. These materials will be boxed up and ready for you to pick up from the UTO office. A limited amount of additional Spanish-language materials will be available, but we want to make sure you get the materials that you want/need.
