- Capitalize Bible-related terms such as “the Gospels,” “the Scriptures,” and “the Holy Scriptures.”
- Lowercase “bible” as a nonreligious term: The AP Stylebook is the journalists’ bible.
- Don’t abbreviate books of the Bible. When citing a chapter and verse(s), use this form: John 3:16, Luke 21:1-13; 2 Timothy 1:8
