As the season of Christmas approaches, we are reminded of the profound hope and light brought into the world through the birth of Christ. This sacred season calls us to reflect on God’s love made manifest, a love that breaks into the darkest of nights and promises that no shadow is too deep for the light of grace to shine through.
The winter months invite us to pause, to sit with the lengthening nights, and to find strength in the promise of light returning. It is during this time that we are called to embody that light—not only as a beacon for ourselves but for one another.
The work of Becoming Beloved Community is grounded in this call. Amid the complexities of our world—marked by divisions, injustices, and uncertainties—our faith reminds us that hope is not passive. Hope is active. It is lived out when we seek reconciliation, speak truth, and commit ourselves to justice and love.
As we light our Advent candles and sing of Emmanuel, let us recommit to being the light. Let us be the hands that heal, the voices that comfort, and the presence that stands with others in solidarity. Together, we can illuminate the path forward, bearing witness to the transformative power of God’s love in our lives and in the world.
May this Christmas season fill you with renewed hope, deep peace, and an unshakable resolve to be the light for one another.
With every wish and blessing,
Miguel+
