Traveling the Way of Love, Episode 6: Go, the latest installment of the first season of the Way of Love video series from The Episcopal Church Office of Communication, premieres October 29, 3:00pm EDT on The Episcopal Church website and on The Episcopal Church Facebook page.
Hosted by Chris Sikkema, the Office of Communication’s manager for special projects, Traveling the Way of Love shares stories of the ways people across The Episcopal Church practice the Way of Love with each episode highlighting one of the seven Way of Love practices: turn, learn, pray, worship, bless, go, and rest. This sixth episode focuses on Go.
In this episode, Sikkema visits the Rev. Elizabeth DeRuff, president and chair of Honoré Farm and Mill in Healdsburg, California. An agricultural chaplain with The Episcopal Church, DeRuff speaks about creation care, the farm’s bread-making ministry, and people connecting with the land and each other. Reflecting on how listening deeply informs the work of Honoré Farm and Mill, DeRuff says, “When we think of our ministries, it’s really important to remember that everything that we do comes out of our relationship with God. It comes out of that love. Who we are is in response to love. Loving food, loving health, wanting people to share a common meal, it arose out of that experience.”
The final episode of the first season is will air in November and focus on the practice Learn.
