Traveling the Jesus Movement, a new periodic video series, chronicles the visits of Presiding Bishop Michael Curry throughout the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion.

“The hope for this new video series is to raise awareness within the church and in the wider world of the ministries of Episcopalians everywhere, helping people understand the exciting ministry of the Episcopal Branch of the Jesus Movement,” the Rev. Canon Michael Hunn, Presiding Bishop’s Canon for Ministry within the Episcopal Church, explained.  “The Jesus Movement happens in all kinds of places and all kinds of ways but wherever it happens you can be sure people are following the movement of the Holy Spirit and joining right in.”

The inaugural Traveling the Jesus Movement illustrates a witness to the hurricane recovery and chronicles the visit by Presiding Bishop Curry to the dioceses of Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands.

“During my visits in January, I witnessed firsthand the devastation of our dioceses, the sorrow of our people and our congregations, but I was heartened by the determination that was apparent,” Presiding Bishop said.  “In the midst of these problems and the issues that are being faced, our brothers and sisters keep the spirit, love the Lord, and continue in their ministries.  That’s the Jesus Movement.”

The two videos, Traveling the Jesus Movement: Puerto Rico Recovery, and Traveling the Jesus Movement: Virgin Islands Recovery, are narrated and presented by Canon Hunn.  Each includes interviews with those affected by the devastating hurricanes.

The videos are located here.
