Presiding Bishop plans Standing Rock Sioux Nation visit to show support and advocacy

In a show of support and advocacy, Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop and Primate Michael Curry plans to visit the Standing Rock Sioux Nation on Saturday and Sunday, September 24 and 25.

Among his activities are: tour Standing Rock with Bishop John Tarrant of the Diocese of South Dakota; visit the Big Camp near Cannon Ball in the Diocese of North Dakota; meet public and regional officials; and lead a public forum at Sacred Stone Camp.

On Sunday, September 25, the Presiding Bishop will preach and preside at a worship service at St. James’ Episcopal Church, Cannon Ball, North Dakota.

On August 25 the Presiding Bishop offered a statement of support of the advocacy of the people of Standing Rock Sioux Nation. The statement is located here
