The Episcopal Church Center at 815 Second Ave. in New York City, NY will be closed on Monday, October 29 because of Hurricane Sandy’s potentially devastating effects on lives and property.
“Hurricane Sandy is a huge storm that will affect the greater New York area, including New Jersey and Connecticut, with closings of public transportation and roads,” explained Bishop Stacy Sauls, Chief Operating Officer. “Emergency situations have been declared throughout the area. Clearly, we are concerned for the welfare of the staff so the building will be closed.”
“The City of New York is asking everyone to prepare for deteriorating conditions that will become increasingly dangerous due to high winds, heavy rains and flooding,” noted John Colon, Director of Human Resources.
Decisions concerning the remainder of the week will be made day-by-day following on-going assessments.
Please keep in your prayers all those who live, work and worship in the path of Hurricane Sandy.
