New Episcopal Community Discerning Missional Leadership Retreat May 20-23, 2019 – Atlanta, Georgia

The Episcopal Church is pleased to announce the first New Episcopal Community Discerning Missional Leadership Retreat. Designed to help church planters and those starting mission enterprise zones or launching new missional initiatives discern a call to leadership in a New Episcopal Community, this retreat will be held May 20-23, 2019, at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Atlanta, Georgia.

New Episcopal Community Discerning Missional Leadership retreats are designed to help participants discern their call as a planter of a new ministry. Working in teams, participants will engage in inspirational and missional theological reflection about their context in ministry, do some team-work exercises, gain insights on their leadership style, and take part in an in-depth behavioral interview process.

The objective of this retreat is to provide an experience for participants to ‘hold up a mirror’ that allows them to see their gifts and goals clearly, and also to learn who to connect with as they pursue a new thing.  All participants will leave with concrete advice about next steps and a recommendation from the assessment team related to evaluating projects to determine if it’s a fit, not a fit at this time, or if it is a potential fit in the future.

This is not a retreat for people interested in assessing a particular project.

Registration information is available here; space is limited. Spouses or partners are welcome. The retreat fee is $400 for the mission developer and $225 for spouses or partners. Included is the assessment, lodging and meals; travel is not included. Registration deadline is April 29. Scholarships are available.
