Maria Pacheco named Episcopal Church Manager for Language Services

Maria Pacheco has been named the Episcopal Church Manager for Language Services, a member of the Presiding Bishop’s staff.

“Our goal is to help the Episcopal Church be ever more able to function in the many languages and cultures of our church and Maria’s expertise as a seasoned translator and copywriter with a demonstrated history of providing language services for diverse audiences is a critical part of that work,” commented the Rev. Canon Michael Hunn, Canon to the Presiding Bishop for Ministry Within The Episcopal Church, in making the announcement.

In her new position, Pacheco will report to Bernice David, Communications Operations Manager, and will be responsible for managing all aspects of translation and interpretation activities required by the Office of the Presiding Bishop, General Convention Office, the Executive Council and other constituents of the Episcopal Church.

She is based at the Episcopal Church Center in New York City; she can be reached at mpacheco@episcopalchurch.org.

Meet Maria Pacheco

As the principal for MPS Translations in New York, Pacheco has worked with SMBs and non-profits in the New York metro area providing translation, copywriting, and marketing services for the past 17 years. She has also held corporate roles, most recently as copywriter, translator/reviewer at Healthfirst in New York where she served as final sign-off for all Spanish language communications. Her expertise includes translation, editing, and copywriting work primarily for advertising campaigns and other communication efforts.

She holds a B.A. in Psychology from New York University.
