Lynnaia Rochelle Main named Episcopal Church Global Relations Officer
As the Global Relations Officer, Mainâs responsibilities will include representing the Episcopal Church to the advisory board of the Anglican Observer to the United Nations and will be the Episcopal Church liaison to various networks of the Anglican Communion, including the Anglican Womenâs Network (IAWN, IAYN) and support for the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW) conference, among other initiatives. Additionally she will be the liaison with the Episcopal Church Office of Government Relations and/or provide Anglican Communion representation on international peace and justice bodies, and will assist church staff and dioceses with international visitors.
A member of the mission departmentâs global partnership team, Main will be based at the Church Center for New York City.
Main, a resident of New York City, has international experience working with the Credit Industriel et Commercial in New York; the Politics Programme of the University of Natal in South Africa; Dyneson, Inc., in Paris, France; and the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris.
She holds a masters degree in International Relations from the Institute dâEtudes de Politques in Paris and a bachelors from American University in Washington, DC.
She has held numerous positions at her church, Eglise Française du Saint-Esprit in New York City, including senior warden and vestry member, and served as a delegate to the Episcopal Diocese of New York convention. She is a member of the Diocesan Committee on Reparations for Slavery.
She will begin her new position on June 27.
