The Episcopal Church and Friends Committee on National Legislation invite all to join an online interfaith vigil at noon ET Feb. 23 to pray for peace in Ukraine and to lament the human harm caused by violence and conflict.

“For several weeks, we have been watching the escalating tensions and military activity along the border between Russia and Ukraine with grave concern,” said Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry. “We condemn the invasion of Ukraine and pray in solidarity with all children of God who are now in harm’s way. I invite you to pray with me for peace—and for a world where we all join hands and ‘strive for justice and peace and respect the dignity of every human being.’”

In addition to Curry, speakers will include the Rev. C.K. Robertson, canon to the presiding bishop for Ministry Beyond The Episcopal Church; Bridget Moix, general secretary, Friends Committee on National Legislation; the Rev. Elizabeth Eaton, presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America; Rabbi Jonah Dov Pesner, director of the Religious Action Center and senior vice president of the Union for Reform Judaism; Danny Hall, director of public affairs for Soka Gakkai International-USA; and the Rev. Adam Russell Taylor, president of Sojourners.
