IamEpiscopalian.org: sharing personal connections, spiritual journeys

Different languages, different faces, different areas of the country, all Episcopalians. In less than two weeks, IamEpiscopalian.org is nearing 100,000 hits!

Developed by the Episcopal Church”s Office of Communication, IamEpiscopalian.org features Episcopalians relating their personal connections to the Church through video vignettes.

The high traffic caused some initial buffering issues, which have been remedied. “With the continued high volume of traffic visiting the micro site, we are in the process of moving to Media Temple,” explained Mike Collins, Episcopal Church director of Digital Media. “Media Temple provides hosting for media to such organizations as NBC, Universal and Starbucks. This should greatly improve the buffering issues some people have been having and provide a more user friendly experience.”

He added, “We have added a Share function for sharing to social networks such as Facebook.”

The Episcopal Church Office of Communication invites Episcopalians to upload their videos on the new website IamEpiscopalian.org. To submit a video, follow the “upload” instructions on the right of IamEpiscopalian.org.

“IamEpiscopalian.org has touched people in an emotional way,” commented Anne Rudig, Director of Communication. “Personal faith stories are shared with others on spiritual journeys.”

IamEpiscopalian.org provides an easy gateway for the Church”s website: www.episcopalchurch.org – just click “continue” on the bottom right.

“It”s great to check the site every day and find new videos,” Rudig continued, “The Church is growing before my eyes. Have you uploaded your faith story yet?”
