I remember being excited to open the little door on my Advent calendar each day to see what was inside, so when my kids were babies, I bought one with a pocket for each day holding a treat that they replace with a counter moving ever closer to Christmas. I’m always impressed with the excitement and gratitude they express with each small token, and I realized that these small items help them stay present during Advent and grateful for the gift that each day brings. Sometimes, it can all seem like too much, and I find that gratitude helps us find our balance. This Christmas, the United Thank Offering (UTO) created a free printable list for Santa that starts with gratitude. It’s another way to help kids stay present and focused on the spirit of the season and not just the gifts. It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of the season, of trying to find the perfect gift, instead of noticing that we are the perfect gifts. We at UTO hope that this season you’ll find ways to pause and give thanks, because we are grateful for the gift that you are.

This will be a sign for you: Gratitude.
