Advent begins on November 28, the first Sunday in Advent, and continues to Christmas Eve. The Advent season is a time of reflection as all await the coming of the Savior on Christmas Day.

In addition, weekly prayer vigils for Sudan will be held throughout Advent, in preparation for the January general referendum. Led by The Episcopal Church, Prayers for Peace in Sudan will be noon Eastern at the United Nations Chapel in New York City beginning on the first Friday of Advent, December 3 and continuing every Friday in December (December 10, 17, 24, and 31.).
