Episcopal Church domestic and global mission explored at special conference: Everyone Everywhere 2011

Congregations, individuals and dioceses can gain much from the extensive global and domestic mission work of the Episcopal Church at the special four-day conference, Everyone Everywhere 2011.

“The heartbeat of the church is mission,” Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori said. “The Episcopal Church is increasingly committed to engagement in mission partnerships within and beyond our borders.”

Representatives from throughout the Episcopal Church and other provinces of the Anglican Communion will lead discussions on the theme, Where is your place in Mission?

Conference details

“Workshops, plenary sessions, and networking opportunities are bountiful at Everyone Everywhere 2011,” noted conference coordinator the Rev. David Copley. “Everyone Everywhere 2011 is the key forum for mission, whether you are involved in domestic or global mission, or want to become more involved, or want to share your experiences.”

Presiding Bishop Jefferts Schori will preach at the opening Eucharist with Bishop Robert O’Neill of Colorado celebrating.

Conference keynote speakers are the Rev. Canon Susan Hope, an Anglican author and priest, “The Spirituality of Mission”; Dr. Christopher Duraisingh of Episcopal Divinity School, “Participating in God’s Mission”; the Rev. Dr. Richard Tolliver of St. Edmund’s Episcopal Church in Chicago, “Congregation-based Community Development”; and Monica Vega, a Episcopal Church missionary serving in the Diocese of Grahamstown, South Africa, “The Relationship with God and Our Neighbors.”

Everyone Everywhere 2011 features over two dozen workshops presented by missioners in the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion. Among the topics are: Asset-based Community Development; Communicating mission; Environment; Human trafficking; Immigration; Refugee resettlement/ministry; Young adults; Youth; and Models, Networking and Partnerships in Mission.

On Saturday, Episcopal Relief & Development will sponsor an evening presentation and discussion on domestic and international ministry.

“The whole Church is needed to respond to the whole of God’s mission,” the Presiding Bishop said. “God’s dream of shalom embraces all of creation, and we need partners beyond the Church as well.”
