The standing committees and bishops exercising jurisdiction have given the required majority of consents to the Episcopal Diocese of West Missouri for its Nov. 9 election of the Very Rev. Amy Dafler Meaux as bishop. Her ordination is scheduled for May 3.

Meaux serves as the dean and rector of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she was appointed as the first female dean in August 2020.  She has served parishes in New Orleans, Dallas, and Danville, Kentucky. She holds degrees from Louisiana Scholars’ College and Seminary of the Southwest.

In giving consent to Meaux’s ordination and consecration as bishop, standing committees and bishops exercising jurisdiction in The Episcopal Church attest to knowing of “no impediment on account of which” Bishop-elect Meaux ought not be ordained as bishop, and that her election was conducted in accordance with the canons. The consent process is detailed in Canon III.11.3.
