Diocese of Utah notified of successful canonical consent process for next bishop
The Episcopal Diocese of Utah has received notification from Presiding Bishop and Primate Michael B. Curry that Bishop-elect Phyllis Spiegel has received the required majority of consents in the canonical consent process detailed in Canon III.11.3. The consents received have been certified by the Rev. Canon Michael Barlowe, Registrar of the General Convention.
In giving consent to her ordination and consecration, standing committees and bishops exercising jurisdiction in The Episcopal Church attest to knowing of “no impediment on account of which” Bishop-elect Spiegel ought not to be ordained as bishop, and that her election was conducted in accordance with the canons.
Spiegel was elected bishop diocesan on April 30. Her consecration and ordination service is scheduled for Sept. 17.

La Diócesis Episcopal de Utah recibió la notificación del Obispo Presidente y Primado Michael B. Curry que la Obispa electa Phyllis Spiegel obtuvo la mayoría requerida de consentimientos en el proceso de consentimiento canónico detallado en el Canon III.11.3. Spiegel fue elegido obispa diocesana el 30 de abril. Su servicio de consagración y ordenación será el 17 de septiembre.
