Applications accepted for Missioner for Transition Ministry

Bishop Stacy F. Sauls, Chief Operating Officer for The Episcopal Church, has announced that applications are now being accepted for the position of Missioner for the Office of Transition Ministry for the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society (DFMS).

The Missioner for the Office of Transition Ministry is a regular full-time position and will be located remotely. The Missioner is a member of the Mission Department of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society. 

“The Missioner for the Office of Transition Ministry is a key part of the mission and ministry of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society and provides important ministry to our Episcopal Church,” noted Samuel McDonald, Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Director of Mission. 

According to the posting, “The Missioner for Transition Ministry exercises programmatic, managerial and budgetary oversight and responsibility for the Office of Transition Ministry, invites conversation from transition ministers throughout the church regarding particular needs they identify, maintains and continues to develop technology support for transition processes and clergy data base, interacting with the database host provider and technical support, and develops resources in ‘best practices’ for diocesan transition ministers to increase understanding of complex clergy transition issues and work with other transition ministers to offer effective solutions to address these issues.” 

McDonald added, “The position requires a unique combination of practical experience in transition ministry in the church as well as technical knowledge for the ongoing changes and updates to the Office of Transition Ministry database and search tool. “
