  1. 2020 Grant Process Updates: SUBMISSION PROCESS!!
    by the UTO Grants Committee

As the new year begins, we are coming closer to deadlines for the two grant processes. We are so excited to read about all of the amazing things you are hoping to do! Please read the following carefully for all of the upcoming webinars, staff assistance deadlines, and application deadlines.

Staff Assistance for the Annual Grant Process: Our staff is here to help all applicants. With that said, there are limits to the amount of help they are allowed to provide. They will only review or respond to five (5) inquiries or drafts per applicant and only the to questions asked. Staff can review draft applications between December 1 and February 1. From February 1 to February 21, staff will only review budgets to ensure items are complete and within criteria. From February 21 to February 28, staff will only review applications to ensure they are complete. The final week before the deadline, there will be no assistance offered nor additions or changes to applications accepted once they are submitted. We highly recommend asking for help early, especially with Companion Applications, which require multiple signatures.

Grant Application Submission Process: Please submit all FINAL UTO Grant applications via this website. Please note: No assistance will be offered nor additions or changes to your application accepted once it is submitted, so make sure it is complete before you hit the submit button.

  2. Monthly Sermons
We now offer a sermon sample each month! Many of you have expressed a desire to have a brief sermon that can be adapted based on the lectionary or that can simply be read in smaller congregations that utilize the Sermons That Work offerings on the weeks when you gather for Morning Prayer instead of the Eucharist. The sermons will always be for the second Sunday of the month, so congregations can plan ahead, and we’ll keep them archived on the blog by the lectionary reference, date, and author. You can find all of the sermons, including some generic ones that can be adapted to any week of the lectionary, here. If you’d like to write a sermon for others to use, please email Heather and she’ll help get you started.
