Vote Early: Election 2020
More than 200 million Americans are eligible to vote early this year! When Americans vote early, we help keep ourselves and our loved ones safe, decrease lines on election day, and ensure that last-minute problems don’t keep us from casting our ballots. But the rules - both for in-person and by-mail options - vary widely all over the country.
That’s why we’re teaming up with Vote Early Day to make sure you have everything you need to vote early and help you make a plan to get it done.
If you plan to vote by mail, get #MailReady by requesting your mail-in ballot TODAY, October 6th, by visiting the vote early engine. Request your ballot right now and then text, call, or email 3 friends to do the same.
When your ballot arrives, read the directions carefully, fill it out, and return it as soon as you can. You can turn in your ballot by dropping it in the mailbox or depending on the options in your state, you may return it at a designated dropbox, or in person at your local election office. The vote early engine will walk you through all the steps to make sure your ballot is counted.
You may instead wish to vote early in person! Find out details on a state-by-state basis here.
Two more things:
Fully Engage the 2020 Election
We have created a comprehensive suite of resources for advocacy, the U.S. Election, and 2020 Census engagement. Central to election engagement are the “Vote Faithfully” resources built up over the course of several election cycles and in coalition with ecumenical partners. These resources are designed for use year-round, emphasizing messaging that is non-partisan and informed.
As the United States gets closer to Election Day, November 3rd, we will continue to release new resources, including, most recently, A Season of Prayer: For an Election, a novena prayer series developed with Forward Movement. See more about our resources in the recent press release.
