Statement on Biden Administration Climate Executive Action
President Biden recently announced executive actions on climate and indicated there would be more to come. The Episcopal Church has long been committed to stewardship of God’s creation, and the Office of Government Relations commends the Administration’s executive actions aimed to address climate change and build more resilient communities.
We applaud President Biden’s plan to expand offshore wind farms to produce renewable energy and curb emissions, and we support efforts to make vulnerable communities more capable of withstanding extreme weather, rising heat, and floods. Yet, more remains to be done.
We continue to call on Congress to take dramatic action to address climate change and preserve the environment.
Please join Episcopalians across the U.S. in taking action through the Episcopal Public Policy Network on seven recent climate related Action Alerts:
Urge Congress to Pass Ambitious Climate Change Legislation
Urge Congress to pass the THRIVE Act
Tell the Senate to Help Wildlife Recover
Support the Farm System Reform Act
Please also join our office for an EPPN Advocacy Training Day focused on the environment, August 10th, 2:00pm EDT. Registration is free but required.
