It's not too early to start planning Children's Sabbath
It is not too early to start planning your Children’s Sabbath.
Literally thousands of churches, synagogues, mosques and temples across the country participate in this celebration by holding special worship services, education programs, and advocacy activities to engage people of faith in the lives of children and their families.
While the usual date is in October, any date is fine. In fact, the official date for 2013 hasn’t yet been established and the new materials are not yet available.
However, if you would like to sponsor a Children’s Sabbath event, you can still download the National Observance of Children’s Sabbaths Manual.
The National Observance of Children’s Sabbaths Celebration is supported by Catholic Charities U.S.A., the Islamic Society of North America, the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the U.S.A., the National Assembly of Bahá’ís in the U.S., the Sikh Council on Religion and Education, the Union for Reform Judaism, the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, and more than 200 other religious organizations and denominations.
Children’s Sabbath is a program of the Children’s Defense Fund, a non- profit organization that has advocated on behalf children for more than 40 years.
