September 2 is Labor Day, a federal holiday in the United States to celebrate the economic and social contributions of workers. In accordance with the Fourth Mark of the Five Marks of Mission – “to seek to transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and to pursue peace and reconciliation” – the Episcopal Church has long been active in passing legislation to protect the rights of workers.
