"Every time I speak about Haiti, I am asked: 'What is it like there?' The only word I know is 'hard,'" writes the Rev. Lauren Stanley, Episcopal Church-appointed missionary to Haiti in ENS Weekly bulletin inserts for Sunday, May 2. Stanley writes of the massive difficulties still faced by the people of Haiti some three months after the Jan. 12 earthquake, their faith and courage, and the efforts – some of them misguided – of others to assist in reconstruction. "I believe that our role in the rebuilding of the kingdom of God in Haiti … is to demonstrate our faith first by listening, then by partnering with the Haitians," she writes.
