Supporting the work and mission of the Episcopal Church is now as simple as visiting www.episcopalchurch.org/index.htm and clicking on the red "Give to the Episcopal Church" button. "In these busy times, how many people have missed the opportunity to support a mission that inspires them because they can't find a handy check, an envelope or a stamp?
Young adults, like my own two sons, have always managed their finances, paid their bills, and made their contributions online," said Angela Daniel, former chair of the church's Standing Commission on Stewardship and Development. "There are so many exceptionally good mission initiatives undertaken by the church, and I am grateful for an easier way for Episcopalians to give where their hearts lead them." Online giving offers a quick, easy, secure way to support the mission of the Episcopal Church.
Donations large and small can be offered on behalf of others, in honor of births, weddings, graduations or in memorial of others, with the donor indicating a particular mission area or fund, said the Rev. Susan McCone, director of Mission Funding, the church's development office. Donors can choose from one of five Episcopal Church funds: ⢠The Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society Endowment Fund â an endowment fund that contributes income to the church's budget.⢠The Episcopal Church Fund â that supports the work of the church. â¢
The Archives New Building Fund â that supports the construction of a new archives and mission research center in Austin, Texas. ⢠United Thank Offering â a program that makes domestic and international grants in support of programs directly impacting the lives of women and children.⢠St. Ive's Fund â that provides financial support for the legal costs associated with preserving and defending the church's property. "It offers someone the opportunity to honor or remember a loved one with a gift that supports the mission of The Episcopal Church," said McCone. In addition to the Episcopal Church's homepage, the online giving button can be found on www.IamEpiscopalian.org, United Thank Offering and the Mission Funding archives page.
