Rebuild Our Church in Haiti announces new and updated resources for congregations and dioceses launching Advent appeal to help rebuild Holy Trinity Cathedral in Port au Prince

November 16, 2011

Advent and Christmas materials are now available online for congregations and dioceses participating in Rebuild Our Church in Haiti, the national campaign to rebuild Holy Trinity Cathedral in Port-au-Prince.

The resources include:

  • Advent devotional booklet compiled by Haitian seminarians
  • Two-sided gift cards in English or Spanish
  • Haitian Christmas ornament cut-outs for church school classes or families interested in learning more about Haitian culture
  • Single-sided gift cards

At Christ Church Coronado, CA, Sarah Shealy Stump has already made use of the online resources for their parish’s Advent season fundraiser:

“We’re giving parishioners the Haitian Advent Devotional when they buy a brick for $10 and we’ve also made great use of the sample gift card. Church members buy bricks to give as alternative Christmas presents and love having the card to give to loved ones.”

Rebuild Our Church in Haiti is a national grass roots effort launched on the first anniversary of the magnitude seven earthquake that decimated Haiti in 2010. The appeal was authorized by Executive Council in response to the request from Bishop Jean Zaché Duracin and the people of Haiti to help rebuild Holy Trinity Cathedral in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
