Jo Gantzer has been appointed provincial coordinator for Province V effective Feb. 1, according to the Rev. Canon Alan James, provincial president, in a letter sent to the province's executive committee.
"I'm looking forward to the opportunity to boost communications and to do a lot of facilitating in terms of helping people get resources," Gantzer said in a telephone interview from Des Moines, where she was attending a 'Living Stones' conference.
"This is an active province, there's lots of ministry going on. I want to make sure that churches get what they need," she said.
Gantzer has a 24-year history of church work, noted James in his announcement, and for the past seven years has been involved in provincial ministry.
She began serving at St. Mark's in the fall of 2009. Prior to that she was canon for lifelong learning for the Diocese of Michigan.
She is currently program chair of the education and formation network for the province. She is also the new director of the Living Stones Partnership, a network of congregations and dioceses committed to the ministry of all the baptized.
