Arkansas Episcopal head of school Diane Brownlee to leave post voluntarily

January 12, 2007

Diane Brownlee, head of school for the Cathedral School in Little Rock, Arkansas, voluntarily elected not to renew her contract beyond the current school year.

The communiqué was presented at the November 2006 Board of Trustees meeting.

"We were very sad to learn Ms. Brownlee will be leaving the Cathedral School after this school year," said Hunter East, board chair.

East said Brownlee has been with the Cathedral School for 21 years, the last five in her current role.

"We appreciate her dedication to our institution and to her legacy of an outstanding educational program in the Episcopal school tradition," he said.

The Board is expected to commence a search committee immediately to help supervise the process of identifying Brownlee’s successor.

The Cathedral School, founded in 1957, is an educational outreach ministry of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. It is accredited by the Southeast Association of Episcopal Schools and National Association of Independent Schools.
