Church Planting and Redevelopment Pro-Action Cafe: April

April 18:

At April’s Cafe, we’re playing around with the challenge and opportunity of Episcopal identity. 

Missional communities are outward–facing and are especially attentive to the spiritual needs of people who aren’t Episcopalians. This means that our worship, communication, and ways of being together don’t always look traditionally Episcopal. But what does it really mean to be an Episcopalian? And how do we communicate about this with our members, dioceses, and bishops? 

We will invite two or three participants to share how Episcopal identity shows up in their ministry context. The rest of us will ask questions, connect responses with our own contexts, and emerge with new paths forward.

Pro-Action Café is an offering for leaders (or would-be leaders) who are discerning a possibility and would welcome some time with a caring and discerning group. We offer this social space to church innovators (church planters, redevelopers, and other missional leaders) to bring specific challenges and questions they are working through; the rest of us will learn together by helping the “caller” clarify their idea and refine the next action steps.
