In a spirit of welcoming and reconciliation, The Episcopal Church and friends and supporters of the Episcopal Church of Cuba invite all Episcopalians to participate in the Cuba Pensions Campaign. The Most Reverend Michael B. Curry, the 27th Presiding Bishop, invites us to think beyond the immediate goal of fund raising for the pensions of our brother and sister clergy.
“That is a worthy effort; but there is more. We are inviting the whole church to a common moment of mission. This is an opportunity to learn about Cuba and the Episcopal Church there and for us all to get to know each other. This is a time and moment of doing some work of reconciliation between our peoples especially in the US and Cuba. This is part of the work of reconciliation, bringing us together across historic divides. This is not just fund raising, it’s following Jesus and finding our way back to each other.”
The COVID-19 virus pandemic is challenging all of us – whether through illness, death, job loss, or the disruption of physical distancing. The ministry and programs of The Episcopal Church are likewise affected at a time when these resources continue to be needed. If you are able, we invite you to support.
We encourage you to continue to support your local parish and diocese first. If you are able to make a gift to The Episcopal Church, please consider giving online, or by telephone, or by mail to our dedicated bank lockbox. Our staff, like you possibly, are working remotely.
Your gift supports the world-wide Episcopal Church. To support a parish, please contact the parish directly.
Thank you for your support and understanding. Together, with faith in God and each other, we will weather our common challenge.
