All search and transition committees want to find and call the best candidate. They also want to do so fairly, so that everyone’s gifts and skills for ministry have been fully considered. Sometimes difficult choices need to be made. Also, assumptions or biases occasionally can creep into a process, despite the best of intentions.
The following resources are offered to help committees consider various ways to help ensure that all candidates, female and male, are given the same consideration during the search and throughout the transition process. If you have resources to share with other committees, or would like to have a resource not listed, contact the Rev. Meghan F. Froehlich, Director of the Office for Transition Ministry.
