Resolution Reached In Disciplinary Matter Involving Bishop of Albany

October 24, 2020

Presiding Bishop Michael B. Curry announced today that on October 16, 2020, pursuant to Title IV of the Canons of The Episcopal Church, he and the Rt. Rev. William H. “Bill” Love, Bishop Diocesan of Albany, entered into an Accord to resolve a disciplinary matter that was pending against Bishop Love. The Accord was approved by the Disciplinary Board for Bishops on October 21, 2020 and became effective on that date.

Presiding Bishop invites prayer on 75th anniversary of United Nations

On October 24th, 2020, the United Nations will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the entry into force of the United Nations Charter, signifying the official founding of the United Nations. The day is officially known as “United Nations Day”.

United Thank Offering: $450,000 awarded for first cycle of Episcopal Church and Anglican Communion mission and ministry grants

Holding on to Hope: A National Service for Healing and Wholeness

Presiding Bishop Michael Curry will lead a live-streamed prayer service from Washington National Cathedral, Holding on to Hope: A National Service for Healing and Wholeness, on All Saints Sunday, November 1, at 4:00-5:30 p.m. EST. In the midst of pandemic, racial reckoning, and a historic election, the live-streamed service will gather Americans for prayer, song, lament, hope, and a call to love God and neighbor.

The letter was sent via email in response to recent violence between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Episcopal Church joins with ecumenical partners, including the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), Global Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and United Church of Christ, the National Council of Churches (NCC), the World Council of Churches (WCC), and others, in prayers for a peaceful end to the conflict.
