Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana notified of successful canonical consent process for next bishop

July 11, 2022

The Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana has received notification from Presiding Bishop and Primate Michael B. Curry that Bishop-elect Shannon Rogers Duckworth has received the required majority of consents in the canonical consent process detailed in Canon III.11.3. The consents received have been certified by the Rev. Canon Michael Barlowe, Registrar of the General Convention.

Julia Ayala Harris elected Episcopal Church’s president of the House of Deputies

Julia Ayala Harris, a deputy from the Diocese of Oklahoma, was elected today as president of the House of Deputies of The Episcopal Church. Her term begins on July 11 at the close of the church’s General Convention in Baltimore, and she will be the first Latina to hold the position.
