Diocese of New York notified of successful canonical consent process for next bishop
The Episcopal Diocese of New York has received notification from Presiding Bishop and Primate Michael B. Curry that Bishop-elect Matthew Foster Heyd has received the required majority of consents in the canonical consent process detailed in Canon III.11.3. The consents received have been certified by the Rev. Canon Michael Barlowe, registrar of the General Convention.

As followers of Jesus, we know that death does not have the final word. In 1 Thessalonians 4:13, the apostle Paul reminded that first generation of Christians that they need not grieve as those who have no hope.
