United Thank Offering invites 2024 annual grant applicants
The United Thank Offering Board is pleased to announce the availability of its 2024 UTO Annual Grants, with a focus on projects that welcome and include “the stranger.” Application deadlines are Dec. 1 for Anglican Communion partners and Jan. 19 for dioceses of The Episcopal Church.

Applications open for General Convention Official Youth Presence 2024
Episcopal teens ages 16 to 19 are invited to apply to become part of the 81st General Convention’s Official Youth Presence, a group whose members have seat and voice in the House of Deputies and can testify at hearings before and during the summer 2024 convention. The deadline to apply is Nov. 17.
Surgery rescheduled for Presiding Bishop Michael Curry
The surgery originally scheduled for Sept. 8 for Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has been postponed until Sept. 20. The surgeon needed to reschedule due to family matters.
Episcopal Evangelism grants available for local, regional projects
Episcopal institutions are invited to apply for evangelism grants to support local and regional efforts to grow Episcopal ministries, resources, and gatherings. The application deadline is Oct. 13.
Update: Presiding Bishop Michael Curry released from hospital, scheduled for surgery
Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry is resting at home following a hospitalization to address a reoccurrence of internal bleeding. He will undergo surgery to remove his right adrenal gland and an attached mass on Friday, Sept. 8, and his surgeon estimates his recovery period will be two to three weeks, after which Bishop Curry is expected to resume his regular work schedule.

Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry was admitted to the hospital this past Thursday night, Aug. 17, with a reoccurrence of the internal bleeding that required him to be hospitalized over Memorial Day Weekend.

Seeking to support creative and long-term eco-ministries, The Episcopal Church’s Task Force on the Care of Creation and Environmental Racism selected 12 new grant recipients, approved by the church’s Executive Council during its June meeting.

Bishops of The Episcopal Church will gather Sept. 19-26 in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic, for a time of worship, learning, and revival. Spouses are also invited for time together to worship and participate in learning and service. The final House of Bishops’ meeting of 2023 will include opportunities to learn about and engage with the ministries of the Episcopal Diocese of the Dominican Republic.
