December 21 – A Sign for You: Gift

Advent Reflections

The Episcopal Church is a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion. This means that we are in relationship with worship communities in roughly 165 countries. We share a common tradition that has a particular brightness during the season of Advent. We all wait patiently while each day getting closer to (re)welcoming Jesus into this world. The coming of Christ means so many wonderful things for all people, peace, hope, joy, and love are just a few. The brilliant part, to me, is that all of these gifts, even the waiting, connect us to our siblings around the world. This time of waiting and celebration are not just for us in one place, but for God’s entire creation. As we prepare for the coming of Christ this Advent, let the knowledge that you are not alone, but among millions around the world celebrating in the same tradition fill you in mind, body, and spirit.

This will be a sign for you: Gift.

Join us this Advent and Christmas (and all year long!) in The Episcopal Church. We invite you to find a congregation in your area by visiting episcopalassetmap.org and searching for a church nearby.
