• On the first full day of the 2023 Episcopal Youth Event (EYE) in College Park, Maryland, participants heard from Bishop Deon K. Johnson of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri (pictured below), who challenged them from the book of Esther to “get up, dress up, and show up ‘for such a time as this’ … Don’t get tripped up on what has been,” Johnson said. “Look forward to what God is calling you to.”

What’s happening Thursday:

• Presiding Bishop Michael Curry will preach at the 9 a.m. ET worship service. Bishop Craig Loya of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota and the Rev. Carrie Schofield-Broadbent, bishop coadjutor-elect of the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland, will preside.

• Thursday’s offering will be given to the chapels at Saint Augustine’s and Voorhees universities, historically Black Episcopal institutions of higher education. To participate, text “GIVECHAPEL” to 41444, or scan the QR code below.
