2022 UTO Training Day for Beginners and Experts
By Sherri Dietrich, President of the United Thank Offering Board
Saturday, June 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern/8 a.m. to noon Pacific
Please join the UTO Board and staff on June 11 (11 a.m.–3 p.m. Eastern/8 a.m.–noon Pacific) for our next online training workshops and closing worship event. Whether you’ve just taken on the UTO coordinator job or want to add some information and skills to your work, we think we have something for everyone. We are still refining these workshops, but here’s the preliminary agenda (in Eastern times):
- 11 a.m.–noon: UTO 101, covering our education materials, where to find them, and how to use them
- 12:10–1:10 p.m.: UTO Best Financial Practices—how to collect, count, send in, and track Ingatherings
- 1:20–2:20 p.m.: Technology—how to find and integrate UTO with communication tools used in parishes and dioceses
- 2:30–3 p.m.: Closing worship event, including release of the new UTO video featuring Presiding Bishop Michael Curry to accompany our overview brochure, one of our new gratitude litanies, and sharing words of thanksgiving
Each workshop will be an hour long and include a presentation addressing the topic (which will be recorded and available for viewing from our website at a later time), and then participants will go into breakout rooms for parish coordinators or diocesan coordinators to discuss the topic as it relates specifically to their work. There will also be time for Q&A in each breakout room. You may register for one or all of the events and may come and go for the events that interest you. Please register by June 8 using the link above; it is the same link to register for events during General Convention. We look forward to seeing you then and talking about all things UTO.
