Advancing to General Convention 2015: Now available: final report of Joint Subcommittee on the Location of the Episcopal Church Center
The Rev. Canon Michael Barlowe, General Convention Executive Officer, has announced that the final report from the Joint Subcommittee on the Location of the Episcopal Church Center has been issued, and has been distributed to the House of Deputies and House of Bishops in preparation for the 78th General Convention of The Episcopal Church.
The Joint Subcommittee on the Location of the Episcopal Church Center is a subcommittee of two Joint Standing Committees of the Executive Council of The Episcopal Church. The report is available here
The nine-page report provides an overview and chronicles the steps taken in addressing resolution D016 from the 77th General Convention in 2012.
The Episcopal Church’s 78th General Convention, June 25 – July 3, will be held at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, UT (Diocese of Utah). The Episcopal Church’s General Convention is held every three years, and is the bicameral governing body of the Church. It comprises the House of Bishops, with upwards of 200 active and retired bishops, and the House of Deputies, with clergy and lay deputies elected from the 108 dioceses and three regional areas of the Church, at more than 800 members.
