Historical Documents of the Church
This is a collection of five documents in the 1979 BCP (pp. 863-878), the first Prayer Book to have and use the title Historical Documents. The five documents are the “Definition of the Union of the Divine and Human Natures in the Person of Christ,” which was adopted by the Council of Chalcedon in 451; the “Quicunque Vult,” commonly called “The Creed of Saint Athanasius”; the “Preface: The Book of Common Prayer (1549);” the “Articles of Religion”; and “The Chicago-Lambeth Quadrilateral 1886, 1888,” as adopted by the House of Bishops in Chicago, 1886; and Resolution II of the Lambeth Conference of 1888.
