Reverend Chris Carlisle joins us for our May 3rd online gathering!

The Reverend Christopher Carlisle devoted twenty-six of his thirty-one years of priesthood as the Episcopal Chaplain to the University of Massachusetts, concluding his tenure as Director of Ministry to Higher Education for the Diocese of Western Massachusetts.

Beyond the alternative worship that marked life at the chaplaincy, a diversity of out-of-the-box experiences were regularly offered, including: the God and Science Project, U Mass service learning courses, a capstone U Mass Honors College course entitled, “Belief” (funded by Trinity, Wall Street), student and faculty art exhibits in an expanded chaplaincy gallery space, lectures, poetry readings, “The Dead Sea Cafe,” “The Faculty Roundtable on Science and Religion,” and many others.

Three years ago Carlisle co-founded “Cathedral in the Night,” an ecumenical street ministry located in Northampton, Massachusetts. Reverend Carlisle is also developing a website and social media platform comprised of alternative Episcopal communities in western Massachusetts called, “Clearstory Collective.” In his spare time, he writes social justice statements for his Diocesan Bishop and is responsible for creating a transitional supportive housing facility for homeless female veterans.

Author of “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Understanding Intelligent Design,” Carlisle recently received a Louisville Institute grant to work on a book he has tentatively entitled, “God in an Uncertain Universe.”

Come join us on May 3rd at 4 PM Eastern as we explore Chris’ experiences with leading transformative ministries!
