An experienced group of Congregational Development leaders recently gathered to discuss what we have learned about planting new churches. The result of their work is found in the following pages. We know from research that it is much easier for people to join a new church plant than it is to become a member of an existing congregation. We also know from research there is an enormous number of people who don't know Christ. Up to 40 % of the American population remains unchurched. 8 models of Church Plants identified by church planters in the Episcopal Church. Each has specific strengths and challenges (+ or -) depending on the demographics and vision and resources available. Don't waste time assessing for character in choosing church planters.
