[Episcopal Life Online] Keeping the Feast: In Paris, at the American Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, longtime parishioner and two-time Academy Award winning actress Olivia de Havilland was lector for the festival Easter morning service on April 8.

Well known for her role as Melanie in the 1939 film classic "Gone with the Wind," de Havilland has resided in Paris since the mid-1950s. In 2006, de Havilland appeared in Los Angeles at tributes marking her 90th birthday. Some years earlier in Los Angeles, she assisted then-Presiding Bishop John Allin in fundraising efforts for the Episcopal Church's Venture in Mission campaign.

This past Easter Day in Paris, de Havilland read the two morning scripture lessons and led the prayers of the people. Following the service she greeted parishioners, Dean Zachary Fleetwood, and Bishop-in-Charge Pierre Whalon, who presided and preached at the liturgy.
