The 2009 Gathering of Diocesan Jubilee Officers will be held March 25-28, 2009 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. All current DJOs were sent email invitations with registration information. The Gathering of Diocesan Jubilee Officers is an opportunity for DJOs to meet each other, network, collaborate and organize for the next triennium. We will have a full schedule, including service projects, meeting time and socializing.
Our Gathering will begin Wednesday morning with service projects in the Cedar Rapids community. Cedar Rapids was hit by devestating floods in June, 2008, and recovery work still goes on. We will be engaged in various recovery projects on Wednesday, so please plan on arriving Tuesday evening in order to be fully involved in this important work. (And don't forget some work clothes!)Thusday morning we will tour some of the devastated areas, and hear more about the ongoing recovery needs.
Our Jubilee program work will begin on Thursday afternoon and run through Saturday evening. There is much to discuss and plan, so we hope you can make every effort to attend.
The event registration fee is $100 which covers hotel accomodations at the Cedar Rapids Marriott and meals associated with the Gathering. We will be providing $200 travel assistance scholarships for those who require assistance with travel to and from Cedar Rapids.
